Partisanship shows in elections appeal

The Seattle Times reports Washington State is going to appeal a King County judge's ruling granting voting rights to felons who owe fines. Republican Attorney General McKenna and Republican Secretary of State Reed made the decision. Meanwhile Democratic Governor Gregoire who won in 2004 with a 129 vote margin in an election that included about 1600 votes of felons, expressed support for the ruling.

I'm sure all of our elected officials will claim they are acting in accordance with the general welfare.
